You and your mum were moved into the Joan Booker ward today, so the midwifes could keep an eye on you both. They come in every few hours to check you. Your mum is on an antibiotic drip while they work out what the infection was. She seems to be doing well though. The nurse came to do the usual checks on you, and to take some blood for testing. We'll need to stay in the hospital a bit longer. People keep saying what a good looking baby you are. A nice peadiatric doctor called Katie came to see us. She said you were suffering from jaudice, but not quite badly enough to warrent treatment. You do look a bit like Homer Simpson. Grandma Jandma came to visit in the evening - she was very impressed with you. She said not to call you Alexander, because your Uncle Martin had a friend called Akexander who was a bit weird. Grandad Bob would have liked to have been there, but he was tired from work. After she left, I went home to feed Bean and have some dinner. I brought my laptop back to the hospital so we could watch something. We watched Only Connect - you were rubbish at guessing the answers. It was the first TV programme we ever watched with you, in case you were interested. I've been given a futon to sleep on, so hopefully I'll get some rest tonight.
