Big day today! We officially registered your birth and collected your birth certificate you are now Robin Patrick Jackson officially.

We completed the registration in Brooklands, where Weybridge registry office had set up a temporary office while the building was refurbished.

The registrar was very nice, I think she was American. We asked her the strangest name she had ever registered and she said Smokey Chai. Would you have preferred that name? We took a long time to choose your name and we think it suits you and both sides of the family agree!

If we had a little more time we would have gone for a walk around the old race track, but we had another hospital appointment to go to. This one was just for me so I left you in the car asleep with Dad. This was probably a mistake as while you both waited for me you woke up and were very unhappy!

I tried putting you in the blue wrap today. You seemed quite cosy. Your Auntie Sophie tucked baby Toby into a wrap a lot, so I hope you and I have lots of cuddles.

Your dad often gives you your last bottle of the night while we all sit together on the sofa. You love to just look back up to him, it’s a lovely way to finish the day.
